Made me laugh.

Combine them with a single five-spoke aero wheel to maximize your indoor trainer efficiency.

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, PEOPLE?

chaadster 03-04-21 11:07 AM

I guess if you really wanted to ride around barefoot...

Barry2 03-04-21 11:14 AM

Those are just frightening.

Indoors - nope.
Outdoors - You could not pay me enough to use those outdoors!

Pair this with a saddle w/ built in cup for riding naked.

Eric F 03-04-21 12:17 PM

Damnit. I can't un-see that.

Pratt 03-04-21 12:17 PM

Should I use Brooks Proofhide on my toes with these?

WhyFi 03-04-21 12:27 PM

I got one of those painful cramps on the bottom of my foot just from watching that.

JohnDThompson 03-04-21 02:00 PM

Too much winter around here for those to be practical.

Easy way to paint your toe nails and dry them.

This is a lot like the running shoes without built up heels that encourage you to run on the balls of your feet. Just like the X-country flats I ran in high school. I loved them! I could run miles with my heels barely touching. Never had shin splints. But early season was hard! That took training. Later years I tried running with the by then, universal padded and well heeled shoes. (They were a lot more expensive, making for well heeled CEOs also.) Shin splints were my nemesis and I never ran for very long. It was obvious both that the shoes made no heel-strike running near impossible and cycling had further allowed the muscles in the front of my foot to deteriorate a lot. Going from the moccasin shoe-like LL Bean boots to hiking boots didn't help.

I don't see these pedals for serious cycling. But I do see how riding them could be very beneficial to the foot. Might even be a gentle way to strengthen up to run in the new heel-less shoes. (For serious cycling, there are the exact opposite of sliding your cleat back to minimize foot issues.)

If your looking to break your toes in a crash, go right ahead.

$200 a pair and $50 international shipping! I have to agree with the above comment, not sure if this is serious.

One of my riding friends is a podiatrist. She was horrified. Plainly, simply horrified. I didn't ask her to elaborate.

Man, that was a great ride....just going to stop into this place for a cold drink and a quick bite. I've been dreaming about this for the last 20 miles...
What's that on the door? "No shirt, no shoes, no service"..........Shiiit.......":(

I remember when it became insistently fashionable to run without shoes because it was so natural. Of course there is naturally a lot of broken glass everywhere, as my flat bicycle tires will attest, and this fad soon faded. Of course there was the incredibly thin rubber shoes with individual toes one could buy but thorns, sharp stones and broken glass took care of that fad. I cringed while thinking of the toe and foot mayhem that could happen without proper shoes on for riding around town. Of course I've been wrong a couple of times in my life and maybe I should pull my retirement savings and invest in this new pedal/foot technology..

Shimano is coming out with an SPD compatible version. But they are having problems finding volunteer testers who are willing to have the cleats attached to their feet.
