Sea Otter 2024
 

Sea Otter, one of the biggest bike expos in the world, is at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, CA from 4/18 thru 4/21. I haven't attended the last few years after attending 10 or so in a row. Go to YouTube and enter Sea Otter 2024 to see videos of "new" products. I couldn't believe they were crowing about an Orbea MTB with the latest Bosch 55nm motor. The bike weighed 42 pounds (respectable, but not super light) for $14K.

Despite being relatively close by, I didn't manage to go. The last one I went to was the one they had in September after the COVID shutdowns. It seemed a bit sparse, and I am beginning to think I already spend far too much money on boutique bike crap that winds up in a box.
