Just getting around to putting my tire on the newly rebuilt wheel. I peeled the sealant skin from the inside of the tire before remounting and, holy holey Batman! At least 8 punctures bubbling air, one of them with enough air loss to feel the breeze from a few feet away.

Woah, Gilmour, Crosby & Nash doing Shine on, you crazy diamond is pretty sweet. The saxman doing Baritone to Alto swaps is rad.

Shoulda left it in there. Rotating weight makes you (and your tyres) stronger!

Is 85 grams weight savings and Micro Ball Bearings worth paying $150 vs $35 ?

Only if it meant the difference between a complete Record group or not.

That's what I've thrown at the Basso so far. Maybe I should get an ebay search for skeleton brakes going. If I can score a pair for $50 ish, I could use that extra $100 for a thompson seatpost.

I know this isn't a buy/sell/trade thread- I'll keep this short and it's just because this one specific item showed up. I have a set of the black Veloce brakes (still in the box) that I've never used...and most likely never will as they've just been hanging out in my parts stash for a couple of years. Pics can be taken in the morning. Yours for $40 including shipping if you want them.

Thank you very much for the offer Jadesfire, but I think I'm gonna follow Addiction's 2-to-1 vote to just get some skeletons.

Early next week is fine.
When I saw the pic, I couldn't figure out what was going on but the internal metal housing is fully inserted and working fine, just the outer plastic sheath looks like crap. Rear is the same way. Housing isn't compressing and works fine. |
