Lots of people leaving at 11am this morning. Wishing I was one of them.
But it's payday and I am buying myself a new MTB frame :bday: I love the way the trek stash looks. |

Can we in the West still get Norwegian sandpaper? I would pay a healthy price for it.

Perhaps he overestimated the awesomeness of the awesome bent frame.....

Which frame you thinking about?
I love the way the trek stash looks. 2014 Canfield Nimble 9. With a basically brand new desert tan powdercoat. So this, but tan: https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...1b874eb659.jpg My buddy at work has two Staches, one singlespeed and one 11 speed. He absolutely loves them. I'm not the biggest fan of them, it feels weird with those big heavy wheels and tires. Gobs of traction though. |

Dunno about the stuff that you're using, but check out Abranet from Finland. |

I will say that finally snagging a power meter has been great for calorie counting. I'm not currently tracking calories with an app because I'm more worried about riding my bike, but I have counted calories enough to know what I'm putting in my body and it helps to have a real number for calories burned in terms of offsetting/complementing my daily intake.

Both of the kids ordered chocolate chip pancakes at First Watch this morning. Neither finished, so I got in my RDA of butter and syrup.

Understand, but eating healthy vs wanting some deep fried goodness, is the start of a good path to be on. If you think the food is so ~bad~ as to mess with your ride tomorrow, you have to ask how ~good~ it really is.
I always felt that I could eat anything and be OK but a plant-based diet and some quality animal protein has made a believer out of me. I try to eat only basic foods and never deliberately eat processed stuff. Quality food has changed my life. Edited to add, waffles/pancakes are not on my list of foods that I should eat and I don't know if Nutella is on my list or not but I wouldn't eat it anyway. |

Further down the road and I am talking a few years I would like to branch out and get a gravel bike, when that time comes I may decide to go the mountain bike route just for the more versatility, I do love the crockett though. |

What happened to snowshoeing?
The problem is that in the last year I've gone from 130-154, while seemingly maintaining the same diet, and I don't know why. |

that’s a pretty sweet frame. Before I started cycling I thought that I wanted to get into mountain biking. We don’t have many trails where I live, and none are close to my house so realistically I would never get to go.

Gravel is neat. I don't have a lot of it I can access on my routes from my house, but there is a lot of it starting about 30 miles West to the Mississippi. If I can manage to get my old MTB frame fixed I think it might turn itself into a gravel bike with some massive tire clearance. |

I was sitting there, being modified, and a 51-year-old woman comes in, complaining of having needle phobia. When the nurse drew her blood, it looked like the woman was going to start crying.

Good Samaritan saw and stopped, but no make on the tag. Fortunately wife was home. |
