Trek Emonda SL 6 - 2016 - Sizing chart
 

Hi guys,

My Measurements are:
Total Body Height: 182 cm (6 feet)
Inseam: 85 cm
Trunk: 65.5 cm
Forearm: 35 cm
Arm: 66 cm
Thigh: 60 cm
Lower Leg: 54 cm
Sternal Notch: 146 cm

According to my height I should buy size 56.
But I have test driven Trek Emonda 58 and the bike felt perfect.
BUT... maybe I should get size 56 and just +1cm longer stem.
Because size 58 is 2 cm heigher.

Sorry if I am over-analyzing, but I can't seem to find Trek Emonda fitting charts.

I'm 6', 32 inseam. You probably have a slightly shorter torso, slightly longer legs, so raise the seat, next smaller frame size (by top tube).

For me, 58's (Trek 5200, Fuji Team Pro) were a bit stretched out, and the head tube a bit tall.

I'm on a 56 (Tarmac SWorks SL2 Team, Tarmac SWorks SL4) which fits well. 172.5 cranks.

I've flirted with 54 Tarmac (lower head tube, more drop, 1cm longer stem, 1cm farther back on the seat), and while they feel great and racy, I wasn't confident about how I'd feel about it on mile 75 to 100. I think the 56 is really good overall.

I wouldn't go larger, and the only reason I'd go smaller is for more drop on a racier fit, which would only really make sense if I went training crazy and was racing cat 1/2/3.

You are probably a good 56, with some stem and saddle tweaking to get it perfect. You may want to consider 175 cranks with your longer legs, but probably don't need to.

I also had Specialized Tarmac (2013) at size 56, that fit me just fine.
Btw. I have a feeling that when I've set the bar at the lowest position I would be more comfy having longer stem.
Cannondale at size 56 also fit me fine.

Anyway, I already ordered Emonda SLR 6 (H2 geometry) size 58 (was for better price) and am waiting for it to arrive, will post my impressions later.

It seems like Trek Emonda has different sizing than other Trek models (for example Madone at size 58 was much bigger and I'd be better at size 56).

Hopefully I'll be happy with that size.

Okay, so I bought SLR 2016 (online), and the bike feels little too big :D crap...

It has Ride Tuned seat post, which at the lowest position is still high for me, I can touch the pedals, but I can't really ride like that. I know, I can cut it, but don't know if this itself is a sign the size is too big.

I will set up the bike fit appointment and see what they tell me.

So, the seat needs the be that high to fit you and you are saying the bike is too big?

If you need to drop the saddle, there is plenty of space to lower the handlebars. The smaller frame would have you with more spacers or a jacked-up stem. If the cock-pit can be tuned to fit, which should be easy, you are in the right frame.

The seat as you see on the photo is like this at lowest position. And it is too high for me (bike size is 58, and I am 6 ft), I need to get it cut.

get the bike fit and you will be fine. they'll probably put a shorter stem on and cut the seat post.

One more example why bike fitting isn't a mere numbers thing. As example no where in this thread is body flexibility mentioned. Andy.

perhaps because body flexibility 1) changes with training and 2) can be adjusted with stems and spacers?

Allright, so this is little embarassing (I am a noob), but I tryed to push the seatmast little harder and it went about 15mm down, so the position is perfect :)
I am very happy.

Also I want to note, that the seatpost says "DO NOT CUT", few people confirmed it would ruin the frame.

If I would want to get even lower, I could buy shorter seatmast.

So, just to close the topic.

I have done a BG Fit Geometry (my height is 182 cm and other sizing are mentioned in my previous post) and they said the Emonda 58 is perfect fit for me.
I am in between sizes 56 and 58.

The 58 is perfect, the handlebars are in lowest position, seat is almost as low as it can be.
Of course overall the bike is much taller and bigger than 56.

I could get size 56, but I would need longer stem, so... it all depends right.
