Surly Disc Truker Tubing Wall Thickness

Anyone know the wall thickness of the 4130 tubing Surly uses in the main triangle of the Disc Trucker?? I know the diameter is OS.

You're probably looking at .9/.6/.9 butted tubes, but it's very possible that the LHT runs straight gauge. That thing is a tank. Best way to find out is to email them.

A Google search comes up with .8/.5/.8 for the LHT. Post is from 2011 so worth checking with Surly if the DT is different. I suspect the main triangle on the LHT and DT are the same.

I have retrofitted a few Surley's, with my take apart frame system. Using dial calipers the wall thickness is actually much thicker than previously reported. As I remember it was more like 1.6 mm. I measured at the thicker "butted" part of the tube, so I can't say what the thickness was for the mid (thinner)and if it was butted. If the frame was .8/.5, A Surley frame would be about four pounds, instead of the boat anchor weight that they are known for.

According to Surly's web site, the main triangle is double-butted.

969 or straight would make most sense. As a welded frame and rugged I would pay extra for straight. Don, t know the spec though.
