Let’s see your Clyde bikes.
So finally got my Giant Seek 1 sorted “again” to work for me with my current limitations from injury. Sider tires. Suspension seat post. And a lot of adjustment and did and readjustment lol. And maybe it just because I just happy with the bike, but I pretty happy with how it turned out.
Its comfy now still fast and easy to pedal when going gets tuff. Crazy gear range on this thing. 4 kms with easy rolling inclines and declines is still HARD work but weather permitting repeatable :) lets see your guys bikes. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...6019aff73.jpeg |

2014 Specialized AWOL DLX No longer in my fleet but what I rode when I was at my heaviest (238lb at 5'8"). At some point I changed the original FSA (?) chainset to a Sora triple. I did like that bike but we don't really have 'gravel' paths in the UK and when I did use it off-road the cable disc brakes weren't so hot. |

I've got a few more but these are the ones that I could find photos of.
https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...3f44a0e548.jpg Ritchey Road Logic, with hand built Clyde wheels . $14 saddle on this broke, so it's been replaced by an $11 saddle, that is black and blue. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...8548fef5f6.jpg Raleigh Grand Prix I found cheap. This is a Ritchey Breakaway bike, which means it can be broken in half and packed into a bag and flown. Came with Campagnolo drivetrain. Not light, but a really nice ride. Wheels are stock and amazingly have held up under my weight so far. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...86a676b0d5.jpg Black Mountain Cycles Monster Cross. Gravel grinder geared for going up Appalachian fire roads (i.e. really low gearing!) Pure fun to ride. |
The Litespeed is my main road bike, the Colnago (my newest addition) is my Sunday, put the top down on the convertible fair weather cruiser, and the Fatbike is when I want to play in the dirt.

Here’s my YBB doing one of the two things I built it for

I really built it for this https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...bf0ac0b0_k.jpg2020-01-26 16:51:13 by Stuart Black, on Flickr during the summer but the lack of paint and the fact that the frame material is impervious to salt make for a great winter bike. |
Clyde ride... My first "real" adult bike. 1986 KHS Fiero, bought from a bike shop as a bare frame in 1989. I built it from "stuff" but rode the hell out of it.
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...5a9adb4574.jpg This pic is from 1990, Honolulu Advertiser Century ride... I was on active duty Navy at the time, weighed about 225/230. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...8fc58f6442.jpg Same bike a few years ago, after a complete overhaul to include Shimano 105 5600 2x10 brifters and mech, FSA compact crankset. My weight in this pic is probably 350... https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...5e0309f052.jpg And present day... I weighed about 255 at that pic... https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...20bc37ebdd.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...8b98b7037f.jpg 2006 Cannondale CAAD8, my reward for reaching 240 pounds. Nearly 140 pounds weight loss. The Performance Access XCL 9r Monster Cross bike above is a true Clyde bike. I rode it without fear when the other bike bike seemed "small". I'll edit later for more... |

For those days when I feel like I might have to run over a few curbs or bumps. My Rockhopper with 29x2.5” Maxxis Hookworms . Nice hill climber too.
EDIT: I added a picture of how my Rockhopper looks now . 700x40 Schwalbe Land Cruiser tires . Lowered the stem . https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...c3767cdb7.jpeg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...dccde0bae.jpeg |
