Elegant solution for dual water bottles on handlebars?

I'm looking for some sort of simple and elegant, chrome mount for 2 water bottles on my handlebars. Something with a vintage look to put on my Raleigh Sport. Thanks!

Back in the day, I used to race with a twin metal bottle holder made by Caloric (?). On shorter rides I used to carry a rolled up tubular tire in one side. They pop up from time to time on Ebay, and somebody makes a modern repro that looks good, but costs almost as much as the real ones. What I didn't like was that the metal clamps put permanent grooved scratches in my original Ambrosia Legnano branded handle bars.

Only picture I have, from about 1965. I still have the bike.

That's awesome! What a cool picture, thanks for sharing that! Yeah that is the kind of mount I'm looking for.

Minoura used to make a similar mount designed for two bottle cages, and I had one for a while. Unfortunately, it broke on a dirt road one day, dumping, bottles cages and all but fortunately falling clear of my front wheel. I would recommend fabricating some sort of connector/stabilizer between the back of this sort of mount and the stem, either the quill or the extension, to keep it from flexing and breaking as mine did.

Wonder why Minoura quit making the double. They still do have the single, which is pretty cool mod'ed by @top506.
I looked for the double for a while, but quit searching.

I strongly suspect mine wasn't the only one that broke! I still use the single cage mount unit seen above on a couple of different bikes and it seems to work okay. The dual mount had angled surfaces for the bottle cages, but the material wasn't significantly beefier than the single, and I think the weight of two bottles combined with some flexiness in use led eventually to metal failure. Mine sheered off horizontally just below the area where it widens out for the mounts over the bars, dropping the vertical bit that held the cages and everything in them.

I may just go with a pair of these $14...

The elegant solutions look to cost about twice what my $40 Raleigh cost me. :)

+1 on the cheap ones - but I installed a rod (carbon arrow tube) underneath that rested on the headset to keep the m from rotating down. Bag on the front hides the ugly clamps.

need a rubber band or elastic to keep the bottles from popping out.

The Performance Bike bottle carrier; $80 for an over-engineered monstrosity with "Eroica" embossed on it? Yee haw... (And no I don't care if it's a replica. It never should have been made the first time.) If it's not a replica, WTF?
