The gf’s latest acquisition 😎

I can’t keep up with her in the N+1 competition. She received this 1997 Colnago Dream Plus Mapei from Fed Ex last night. It was packed so carefully it could have withstood anything. Today we take it out on its maiden voyage while I’m “stuck” riding a plain old C40🤣🤣
I have to say it’s kind of cool when you’re GF is more into your hobby than you are 👍🏻

From 1997? I'd hate to see the tracking info on that!

Oh! You mean its a 1997 model, not that it was shipped in 1997....

Drool!!!:thumb::thumb:

As long as the gf's "latest acquisition" isn't a new bf, I guess you have reason to be happy.

Colorful! I like that!

mackgoo 05-21-20 10:13 AM

Beautiful bike. Needs Campy though.

Bigbus 05-21-20 10:19 AM

That is one awesome looking bike! :thumb:

Campy is nice, but Dura Ace is a fine choice for a race machine as well :thumb:

This particular Dura Ace group is some sort of stupid expensive 25th anniversary edition.

Wrong! The Mapei team used Shimano so Dura Ace so that would be the correct gruppo for the bike. Plus the 25th anniversary is a nice looking set. Campy is fine material for most 'Nagos but a Mapei team would be on Dura-Ace in that era,

Nice
Is that paintwork original?

Has she got any sisters that ride a 55cm?

Oldguyonoldbike 05-21-20 07:00 PM

Tomm,
You are indeed a lucky man! Good on you and your GF! Wish it were the same here. Smiles, MH

Miele Man 05-21-20 08:54 PM

That's a gorgeous looking bicycle.

Cheers

Wileyrat 05-21-20 08:57 PM

Very nice. I've always liked the Mapei frame paint schemes.

Oneder 05-21-20 08:58 PM

That's one girly bike

Pugs2xLove 05-21-20 09:04 PM

Nice bike. Somebody put some serious OT into that bike.

Cyclist0108 05-21-20 09:13 PM

I would get married into that as quickly as possible.

One sister who prefers snowboarding, every family has one that goes wrong 🤣

it’s my understanding that it is.

Took it on a 32 mile ride tonight in Sacramento, she loves it ! Not as fast as her Pinarello Prince but shifts like a Mercedes. And yes it has clipless pedals, the flats were just for the initial
test run as she is terrified of crashing it.
