37.8 miles

Rode 37.8 miles this morning. I've gotten into gravel riding and this was the farthest I've gone yet. I'll try to post a link to the MapMyRide app. I'm going to try to do this once a week with other rides thrown in. Not bad for a 43 year old 260lb fat guy!!

Congratulations! This week I did 38 miles too, which is 62km, my age. I averaged 12+ mph on the rail trail. Rode a mtb and weigh a few pounds less.

Might need to take a pack fishing rod with you!

What is that in the second pix? I have never seen anything like it.

It is an overflow for a pond or small body of water. We have tons of them in Iowa.
Gravel bike is my next purchase. Waiting on the carbon Fuji Jari to hit the U.S. in December.

Nice work for a "43 year old 260lb fat guy" especially averaging 14mph on gravel. Nice bike!

There is a culvert under the bike path that leads to a canal on the other side. I had never seen a collection area like this before either. That's why I snapped a picture of it.

Unfortunately no fishing, swimming or boating in this area.

14MPH on gravel for 40 miles aint no joke. Strong work!

well done. what was the trail like? would love a drop bar bike with big compass tires. jealous! :D

Upped the game a little yesterday and logged in around 41.5 miles. Adding just another 5 miles or so was a game changer. Wow. The last few miles were tough. That coupled with a strong headwind for the first half of the ride wiped me out.

Nice work! Is that whole area below sea level? I was surprised by your elevation chart.
