Post Your Bridgestones -- The Unofficial Bridgestone Thread
It must have been a good spring mating season for Bridgestones because they seem to be showing up here with greater frequency.
For the purpose of the Historical Record, let's collect and post photos of Bridgestones here. Let's see if we can out BOB the BOBs. My 1989 RB-1 with replacement fork, which, BTW, rides very nicely. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...MG_0044r-3.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...MG_0053r-3.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...IMG_0066r4.jpg |

1990 RB-1 that I completely restored, re-built 2008, with NOS and lightly used Campagnolo Record, Chorus and Centaur bits.

I've always been fond of the '89 RB-1, and unfortunately cannot post a picture of my '85 T-700 packmule right now. Happy Travels!

Does a 1977/78 Bridgestone Kabuki Diamond Touring count? Real nice bike back then. Still ain't too shabby!
http://i373.photobucket.com/albums/o...g?t=1244497792 I still have all the original packaging material and the original receipt! http://i373.photobucket.com/albums/o...g?t=1250382883 |
Bridgestone T-700
Unfortunately other projects have prevented me from overhauling this bike, but it is in great condition for being in storage for 20 years. The bike has the original pump and water bottle. It was a great find. I'm looking forward to reconditioning this bike!

1989 Bridgestone MB-2
1 Attachment(s)
Bought new, still have the original manual (receipt sadly disappeared.) Still has original Dia-compe brakes/levers, Suntour Accushift Plus derailleurs and 7-speed freehub, ritchey hard-anodized rims. Original stem, seat post and avenir seat disappeared during a move while the bike was set up for my dear wife but have been replaced with similar items. After a few years of serving as my son's bike I finally had to replace cables/housings, pedals and bottom bracket (crunchy bearings are no fun.) 'twas cheaper to fit a modern 22/32/44 crank and exo-BB (lighter, too) than to replace sugino BB and 24/34/46 sprockets. Bike is now on its second (or maybe 3rd or 4th) life and even the accushift works well enough to be useable. 1989 was my favorite year for Bridgestone color schemes.

1986 Bridgestone 500, 59cm
Shimano 600 drivetrain (shifters/crank/derailleurs). Bought from original owner in 2008. Rebuilt in 2009 with upgraded 105 calipers & levers, threadless stem and wider bars. Here in commuter mode, since un-commuterized and added a used, brown suede Rolls saddle. I keep thinking of replacing it with a new racy road bike, but it still goes great. A new wheelset and 8-speed cassette would be nice, but hard to justify pumping more money into it. I've owned a number of '80s steel road bikes the last few years, this is by far the nicest. I've put 2000 miles on it in three years. http://trancelab.com/bike/IMG_0974.jpg |
I've gotten the (Bridgestone) fever. I've bought 3 of them in the last year and still have two.
First, my 92 RB-2. I just recently added a Nitto Technomic stem and had all of the cabling redone. It rides like a dream now, very comfortable. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Q...0/DSC_0002.JPG Next, a 93 (I think) Bridgestone Bub. I picked this up for Bike Night and trailer rides (so I am planning to take the trailer and tag-a-long gear off of the RB-2). It's a former rental bike from Boulder, CO, but it rides great.. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-1...0/IMG_0224.JPG Finally, an MB-2. I actually bought and subsequently sold this one within about two weeks -- it was just a little too small (and I really wanted a rigid fork). Here's it with my RB-2 before I did the recent work. I'm still on the lookout for a decent MB, I'm sure I'll find one eventually. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-K...0/IMG_0097.JPG |

This isn't really C and V, but it sure handles well in all weather conditions:

Rocket-Sauce, you sure about the year? Your paint should identify it as a 1994, not 1990, I believe.
1994 RB-1 that should be on the way to me within the week. http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...ffriau/RB1.jpg |

1991 Bridgestone RB-1 with Shimano Sante groupset and SKS fenders I also have a Bridgestone RB-T but haven't had a chance to photograph it yet. |
'88 second generation T700. All I have right now. I want an '87 Mile112 to replace the one I sold like an idiot.:o

Hi Catnap
If that frame is blue and Lilac (yes the white as tinged with purple) then it is a 1990. 91 was green and white. |

Mmmm... I do love a good Bridgestone. I don't even know if they're all wonderful like people say they are, but my first restore was a Bridgestone 300 Sport Touring. That bike did ride wonderfully and I've wanted another Bridgestone ever since. Here's a kinda lousy photos of my lost Bridgestone.
