Cannondale Synapse Disc 105 2016

Hi everyone,

About to purchase my first Cannondale bike.

Anyone here own and ride one?

What are your thoughts on comfort level etc?

Cheers

A friend of mine just got the 2016 rim brake carbon synapse 105 ($1,999), and another has the carbon synapse with ultegra.

Both Love their bikes, for comfort, speed, everything...

BUT...while the carbon synapse gets lots of praise, my own test riding of the aluminum synapse left me underwhelmed but part of that was some poorly adjusted sifters and brakes). I've heard others say the same, but that was back in 2014. I haven't ridden the newer ones, nor know anyone who has.

Love mine, I Have the 105's on my Synapse and CAADX. Smooth operating.
Had an easy cadence today and was traveling about 17mph on a rail trail.

Considering placing Schwalbe Marathon 700x32c on the bike just for a little extra grip and for the odd gravel bike path i may encounter.
Anybody use 32c tires and if so your experience/thoughts?
Cheers

32c tires turns a spirited ride into complete mush. I wouldn't go higher than 28c.

FWIW-- I previously rode two Synapse carbon bikes. 2008 that got hit by a car (frame survived no problem and I kept riding it). 2011 after prior 2008 got stolen. Both nice bikes. Sold the 2011 and went back to steel.

Any other experiences?

It's not the 32 part that turns a ride into mush, but Schwalbe Marathons probably will. There are quite a few options these days for a 32 tire that will be fast and have a nice ride.
