TREK carbon fiber 5200 or 5500 or 5900?
 

gents. anyone able to help me know how to figure out if a bike is one of these models? is it supposed to be on the decals somewhere? no pics yet but i can post them as soon as i have sone. i did some research but all i could dig up was there was a US model and an overseas produced version of the carbon fiber trek?
anyway any pointers would be really welcome.

sorry. i meant i am picking up a bike and was wondering how to ID it.

also. we’re only certain models made in certain years? i guess i read the trek documents but i couldn’t figure out this 5XXX business.

or what “levels” there were for the carbon fiber bikes. is there a better place to ask?

thanks man. i think i found it. 2007 5000 TCT carbon in silver i think

There will usually be a decal but if not and the bike is complete, 5900 would have high end dura ace kit, with Ultegra or 600 tri color on the 5500

hey man. so the thing has almost no decals. it has a hand built in america decal.

it had a ton of random decals on it that i had to all take off -

but NO trek color decals.

the components seem to match. so it must be 2007 TCT version yes?

i was thinking it is a 2007 trek 5000 TCT based upon looking it up on the website. and the single fact that it is silver. so i was thinking TCT.

also i don’t see any serial number information..

Early model TREK OCLV identification
 

Hi All,

I have similar query to freesafety22 which I'm hoping the knowledgeable crew out there can help identify my TREK from early 1990s (i think). I still use it on my home trainer, but I'm planning on renovation but need help identifying the model to ensure I have the right base.

• Early model TREK OCLV frame - there is no decal with model number on the seat tube.
• Gear levers are on the down tube...
• Campagnolo running gear, crankset and headset;
• No serial number stamped under bottom bracket (including under the cable guide)
• There is a BS 6102 conformance sticker on the frame - that standard was published in 1992

I've been back though all the back catalogues in the early 90's and can't find a match - particularly the gears on down tube.

I've tried to upload photos to the forum but not sure if I can yet...

Any idea of value of such a bike would be grand.

also. how do you know it is oclv and not TCT?
