Rose Canyon Construction.
 

Planning to ride south on the coast for the first time in about two years. Does anyone know if the Rose Canyon Trail is open during trolley construction? Planning to ride down there tomorrow, Friday 9/20 about 10 AM.

yes, it's open. it's been repaved/redone. it's wider and nicer than it used to be.
may be some heavy equipment/construction trucks on the south end by the karl strauss brewery.
they're working hot and heavy on the north end at gilman dr. this last little stretch that runs into/away
from the gilman dr. end is temporary and looks like it will be rerouted east 20 yards or so in the next few months.
that said, cyclists exiting onto gilman or entering from gilman still deal with being super cautious with motorists
exiting the freeway and making that right onto gilman.

Thanks. didn't see the response in time so I went through La Jolla/PB. Not sorry I did. It's been a very long time since I went that way, Other than a couple of unmarked dead ends, I made fairly good time.
