Advice On Thinning The Herd
Hi everyone, looking for some help on deciding which bikes I should let go of. I currently have 4 bikes: 2019 Trek Crockett (Rival), 2018 Trek Emonda ALR (Ultegra), 2017 Fuji Roubaix Disc (105), 2016 Jamis Xenith (105). I'd like to go down to just 2 bikes since we have limited space. The Crockett is the most recent purchase and so I'm definitely keeping that. It's also the only bike that I have for gravel and dirt. I'm leaning towards selling the Emonda since it's the exact same paint job as the Crockett. I know it's not the best reason, but probably better in the long run for my OCD. I'm torn between the Roubaix and the Xenith. I can't seem to decide what's more important to me, having a carbon frame or having hydraulic disc brakes. The Xenith has a lot more miles on it, but still rides great. Also, I usually buy my bikes used so I can probably get a lot of my money back for the ones I sell. The other idea that's going through my head is selling all 3 roadies and getting a completely new bike. Decisions... decisions... anyway, thanks in advance for your input.

Any time you can work a new bike into the mix, the choice then becomes quite simple.

Ship the Fuji Roubaix and the Trek Emonda to me and you are done. Simple.

Or, Wait till your estate sale..

I'd sell the Roubaix Disc, because the market seems to want discs, so you'll probably get the most for it. That'll leave you with a disc brake gravel/cx bike and a rim brake road bike, which gets my vote.

I'd sell two and buy one. That way, you've thinned the herd but still have a new one!
|
Get rid of one first. Pick the one you have ridden the least in the past year. |
Craiglist and don't look back.
Or, don't let your significant other bully you into parting with beloved steeds. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...3af77634b7.jpg |
^^ Ha yeah that looks about right. I guess I'll keep the one that doesn't sell, and if they all sell then time for a new bike!
