Wal Mart Schwinn bike brake levers have long pull (v brake)/short pull adjustment???
 

I was just pretty surprised to see this!!! I guess sometimes it really does cost a lot less to manufacture a million of one thing instead of a half a million of 2 things.

That said, I wonder if they just set them at the factory or if Wal Mart employees are ever asked to go in and change it.

It is not just the manufacture, but stocking and inventorying just one SKU is significantly less costly. The old Volvo 240 wagons used the same rear doors and glass as the sedans, even though it left a gap at the top, for this reason.

With the way I have seen some (x)-Mart bikes assembled I hope they do not touch the brakes!

A $10 pair of V-brake levers that I bought a couple years back, manufacturer unknown, has both holes drilled, but a rivet goes through the V-brake hole holding the rest in place. I guess they're not easily changeable, and nobody's going to put these on a flat bar road bike...
