Looks like the cable outright got crushed....not the kind of thing a rock chip would do??

Does the cable travel enough that the flattened area causes the problem your experiencing? |
Oh it wouldn't have been just a chip. Some of the rocks getting tossed around were golf ball size. There was quite a variety including sections of loose very large pebbles up to 2.5 inches or so. We had a good pack moving at high speed and rocks were flyin' when we hit the downhills and sprint sections. It's also possible it came from my front tire but ballistics have so far been indeterminate.

Mechanicals suck, sorry it ruined/ changed your event! to answer your question though, my Axis is too new to me to have issues and for the month I have had it, I still am changing things around. |
