1999 Schwinn Peloton Frameset 56cm

Hello!

For sale is a 1999 (I think) Schwinn Peloton frameset in 56cm. In good shape with some chips in the paint, no rust. Clearcoat on aluminum fork show some wear, but does look pretty good. It's too small for me, but I had it built up for a test ride and it was probably the liveliest steel frame I've ever ridden, it practically climbs by itself.
Includes Shimano 600 sealed bearing headset, cable stops, American Classic seatpost (not pictured) and the other Schwinn-branded water bottle cage (I misplaced it for the photo).
$130 $110 plus shipping, PayPal F&F. Sold! Thanks! Ask me any questions! I'd also consider trades for a decent 8/9/10 speed tubular wheelset. Thanks!

This is a very awesome frame set. I have the Circuit that is the exact same frame set , only it came with 105 Triple. My everyday rider.

+100

Always regretted selling my 99 Circuit.

I have a 60 cm, exact frame

I put a carbon fork on the frame. ONE heck of a ride!!!

Great price. If that was 60cm, I'd build another for sure.

just bought a 1999 Curcuit, nice, stiff, fast ride. Aluminum fork is okay, it’s definitely stiff and adds some chatter to the bars but for lower miles it isnt too bad. Comfortable frame but wants to go fast. It handled nicely and looked like you could maybe get 32s in the frame? I just measured a Denti and could be confusing the measurement though. I was very, very surprised at how nicely it rode. I immediately started thinking about drivetrain replacement and a carbon fork. It’s a 1” threaded aluminum fork as of now. The Schwinn branding is cool and you get some intrigued looks by people, especially if you’re keeping up/going past them.

What’s the top tube measurement?

Its 56cm c-t-c on both the top tube and seat tube, but the seat tube extends above the top tube another 2 cm for the collar.
Not sure about the Circuit, but I’d say the tire clearance is very racy on this guy, it would probably max out on a plush 25mm.

2 questions, 1.) About how much would shipping to California be, and 2.) Would I be able to pay with an Amex card and no Paypal account? I had a Paypal account years ago, but abandoned it after several bad experiences dealing with the company and their fees and assorted BS. I seem to remember being able to wire money to my GF via CC without having an account, if they sent you a request.

BikeFlights shipping would be about $40 depending on where in CA you are. I can do PayPal or Venmo for payment, if it’s “friends and family” the transfer is free with either service.

I need this like a another hole in the head. But....
Dropout spacing?
Picture #3 , where the seat tube and down tube meet the bottom bracket, there is a defect in the weld. What is it?

Good eye, I didn’t notice that! I picked at the defect with my fingernail and it came right off - it was a bit of slag or debris caught under the paint. Here’s what it’s like now:

The rear dropout is 130mm.

Thanks!
