Is there such a thing as "Cycling Elbow"

I played tennis a few times a month ago and developed tennis elbow which will not go away. The only exercise I'm doing is cycling so I'm wondering if that's causing it.

Has anyone got tennis elbow style symptoms from riding a bike too much?

Funny you ask that - I have terrible elbows and it can definitely be an issue. Try to work on them (I use the Triggerpoint thing called... I think the worm) and make sure you engage your core as you ride instead of just locking your elbows and resting your torso on them.

You might try exercises to get rid of the tennis elbow. Some form of exercise is better than no exercise.

What Bah Humbug said and eccentric exercises will fix you right up.

Funny this topic came up. I was just after having a sore elbow myself for a while, which I realized was due to putting too much of my upper body weight onto the handlebar. My position on the bike needed tweaking, so I lower my saddle a few mm, got into a more crouched position where more of the support for my upper body was coming from my midsection, and viola! No more elbow pain.

I'm now doing regular core exercises with a view to improving my, uh, core.

Hmmm. Me too. New bike and different fit may be the culprit.

There is no such thing as riding too much.

This actually works in preventing tennis elbow. I bought a Therabar and did a few exercises daily after developing tennis elbow when I played golf avidly. It takes a little time for it to go away as you're strengthening different muscles used while gripping.

Make sure it's not your hands as the ulnar nerve runs through your elbow and under your palm. https://www.physio-pedia.com/Cyclist%27s_palsy

I'm fighting tennis elbow right now, cycling didn't cause it but it certainly isn't helping it get better. I lifted my hand/arm from the bar today to wave at a passing car who waved at me, and I saw stars. I've been wearing an elbow strap off the bike, but it's not helping much. I will have to check out the Theraband - good info here!
