Tahoe Trip Recommendations
Travelling to Tahoe next month w/ bikes. Can anyone suggest easy road or gravel routes for my wife and I. Staying in Truckee. She has very basic old MTB and wants 1-2 hr ride w/ hopefully little traffic. Maybe on paved trails or wide shoulders.

was up there 3 years ago on the south end and ran across a few paved bike paths in decent shape that might fit the bill.

The Legacy trail starts just out of Truckee at Truckee River Regional park- ~5 miles, paved, follows the river- very pleasant.
The Truckee River Bike trail starts/ends at Tahoe City, also follows the river, quite long, but much of it is right next to the road. Riding around Donner lake is nice- a little traffic. All of these are basically flat and very mellow- bring a picnic! |
Google Tahoe Pyramid trail. It’s a trail that will eventually go from Lake Tahoe to Pyramid lake in Nevada. The sections around Truckee are ready now. Enjoy

There is a great paved trail that starts at the intersection at Squaw Valley and takes you clear to Meeks Bay which is around 24? Miles round trip.
It passes by numerous little cofffe shops, etc… where you can take a rest and enjoy the scenery, mostly flat and quite safe. |
