Is REDLINE a good company?
 

i have read many different opions and i think that i might get the redline mega x
The parts look pretty god but I really dont know anythin about "redline" the company
any help with be appreciated

i rode a redline single x for awile and was happy with it... but i'll let some real bmx guys tell you.... i dont know much on the bmx scene, just mtb

Redline's been making bikes since way before your parents made you. They were a local company where I grew up in SoCal. The company's been sold since then, but they still turn out good bikes. I only race BMX, don't do freestyle or tricks, so I don't feel qualified to offer advice there. I can tell you that the bike you mentioned is spec'd out nicely, and from a good company.

What, exactly sucks about Redline? The fact that you don't like them, or is there some material reason?

i dont like the company but they do have some good riders now. but its all up to you. it has some alright parts in my opinion.

can some people give me some opinions on the quality of the parts on that bike

Are you looking for a race bike, or freestyle/trick bike?

freestyle street mostly

I used to ride Redline back in the day, (25 years ago) although I broke alot of Proline frames, I really have nothing bad to say about their current bikes. The component spec on the model you mentioned is great for a stock rig. The bike as a whole would be a good machine for your application.

i had a 2004 complete redline almost like the one your thinking about getting, I really liked the frame, the only things i had problmes with were, i Bent the forks in the same place my friend bent his redline forks, Mine had the Monster cranks and the spindle band and was twisted after about a year, the grips sucked badly, and I hated the tires.

I have a 2018 redline reacon For a couple months now and honestly so far so good.. the only think that preveted me from riding is when I need to repair it due to easy fixes like loose chain, or having to sand my stem so my bars stop slidng other than that it's great

the quest is for profit.. and costs are better going to Japan , then Korea , now Taiwan.. (or PRC)
still you order them from your bike shop carrying the importing distributor's line, via Port of Entry Tacoma

(or Oakland, or Long Beach-San Pedro)


All bikes at the prices you are willing to pay, will be having a contract manufacturer in Asia
doing the actual manufacturing .. and they have concentrated in being bigger fewer manufacturers
making multiple brands

It's a heavy bike. Overbuilt like the rest of them during that time. You'd do better finding something off craigslist that is newer, lighter, and more in line with what they are using for street nowadays. Don't get me wrong, most of my bikes are vintage, just think you'd do better going a different route.

I agree, the lighter the better to a certain extent for street riding. Would leave the Redline and get something else second hand.

My opinion is Yes, they are a good company and have been a major contributor in the shaping of the bmx scene not to mention their forks design innovations set the standard that is still used to this day.
Ever since i was a kid I wanted a redline so bad but couldn't afford one.
I just bouggt my first on Friday !2001 triple X . It too is a tank.oversize axles, heavey duty steel frame. They are built to absorb punishment.they are also perfect for flatland where the wheels and axles stay true while you bounce around
On the rim.ansld stand on it endlessly.the extra weight is nice for counter balance and in my opinion, when you are going super hard and on the edge to of losing control,the extra weight is safety

They were spearheading the world champions through the 1990s. Unless they joined the walmart shelf with brands like Schwinn I'm sure they've remained making BMX racing products and frames.
