A Cinelli from 1986, a Raleigh Pro from 1970, and a 70's Stella...
...walk into a bar. Three recent painting and restoration projects.

Depending on the size of the bar, the forks might be bent. I can offer inspection and road-worthiness survey.

.
...some further explanation: The Cinelli only needed some extensive touch up, and I was lucky enough to find a decent match to the original pearl white using a Rustoleum "shell white", oversprayed with a pearlescent lacquer from Hobby Lobby. The Raleigh Pro was a total strip and repaint, because it needed a little minor frame work (which burned the pain in a couple of spots). The Stella came from the Mountain Bike Museum, where they deaccessioned it to raise money to pay the rent. So the Stella and the Cinelli got Spraymaxx clear coats to kind of freeze them paint and graphics in place. The Raleigh got the same thing, because it makes for a nice finish over vinyl decals, and helps a little to blend in the raised edge of them. I was so pleased with the headbadge remounting technique I started another thread on it. I think I'm gonna take a break from this, then have another Raleigh Pro (a Mark IV) that I want to paint out in silver/black. It's all black now, which is the color the frame was when I bought it at the co-op. Pretty obviously stolen at one time, but there wasn't much left of it besides frame/fork when it got donated there. Anyway, enjoy the pictures. It was a lot of work. :) |

Oh that Cinelli, the chrome and white is tight! Stella takes it though with that sweet headbadge.

Sweet bikes, all three! Saw that head badge installation info. Very cool.
Do you have a favorite among these? |

Beautiful bikes

I feel for you all with those fires out there. Terrible stuff.
Hope it clears up . |
Great bikes. Just starting in on a chromed 1970 Pro Mk1, will post something soon enough. Is E7 the totality of the serial on the Pro?

A lot of Italian bikes are too gaudy for my taste, but not these Cinelli bikes!
