Cést fini...really this time

Peugeot UO-18 Mixte for my daughter. 2x9 with Ultegra STI shifters and FD, a 105 RD, and a FSA Gossamer 50/34 crankset. The French thread ROI BB holding a 30mm axle is pretty cool. 700c rims with Tektro brakes. Repaint with all 2K; primer, gloss white and clear. The headtube and pinstripes are brush painted. hat tip to @SharpByCoop for the photo tips.

What a terrific 'Restomod'. Really cool stuff and impeccable handwork. She is one lucky daughter.

Very nice. A deserving display! :thumb:

Exquisite!

Not too shabby.

She is gonna ride a Wall Hanger... Bravo...

I am taking notes on your components. Fantastic! They are all proven products with that shinny flare that lasts. Your over all craftsmanship is beyond reproach!

Saving these pics as an example of how a Mixte should be done.

Here is a link to the brand new Peugeot LC01 still being made in France. I have no idea what they cost. I think Peugeot needs to take notes on your bike too...

Would really like some specs on its Freewheel, Seat Post, and Headset/Stem. Would also like some more information of your Bottom Bracket install. Thanks...

They sell for about 610 euros according to a couple sites in France.

I echo everyone else's kudos! Also, your photography is excellent. I need to try shooting more bikes against a black backdrop; i usually use gray or white but your Peugeot really pops in front of black.

The freehub is a Shimano Tiagra RS-400, the rear wheel was re-dished about an 1/8'' so the chain will clear the chainstay with this modern cassette. Headset is original but the stem is a brand new Origin 8 stem, which fit French steerers usually without sanding. The #$%*ing seat tube was 22.0 mm. I reamed it to 22.2mm and used a fluted BMX seatpost and old school (heavy) saddle clamp.

The ROI BB was super easy, it's a Hollowtech II style BB but for a 30mm axle. ROI also makes them for 24mm axles and Swiss threaded BBs. I'm a big fan.

Beautiful! I can't believe I've never seen a water bottle mounted in that position on a mixte bike before, but it's a great idea. It makes so much sense.
You may have discovered this already, but the battery on that brand of rear light can very easily get lose when going over bumps.
Are you tempted to fill in the "Aztec" lug windows blue? There's always one more thing you can do!

WT160 04-20-24 08:45 AM

What pedals are those?

mpetry912 04-20-24 09:54 AM

very nice with many cool details. Ernest Csuka would nod in approval.

¡Gracias Amigos!!!!!

A couple pics to finish up with;
The first is as-is, no processing with Paintshop Pro, the second gets honorable mention for the modernist mess.

You really went the extra mile! Love the pinstriping. Congratulations.

Hopefully, she'll ride it like you stole built it for her!
