Shogun 1500...My First One...

Well, it appears that I'm now finding only Shogun bikes! For a while it was Fuji. Crazy!

This is the first 1500 model I've ever had, and the photos are as purchased. Guy I bought it from cleaned it up to what you see, as he said it was hanging in a friends garage for years. It appears to have seen little use and the tires look pretty fresh. Rides very nicely...but just a bit short for me to hang onto anyway.

Most of the bikes I've bought lately have been passed on. I can't keep them all, but I do enjoy "playing" with them for a while. I'd be broke, even if I had the space, to keep them all that I've bought. It's a fun hobby, and I make some money and I'm able to just keep the train rolling along. This is how I enjoy my retirement.

Oh, and I paid $100 for this one...:speedy:https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...3e8fa63d88.jpg

Fabulous. So much to like about that tourer, even the M700 rear derailleur. Beautiful.

Just raise and get the saddle leveled, and roll the bars forward to flatten the drops. Lose the kickstand, but offer it to a buyer who asks for one.

I could sell that for $325 + in the DC market. But I'd be tempted to keep and ride it, since it's my size. Jealous.

That's one sweet looking ride

If it was my size (taller frame), I'd wind up adding it to the stable for that price. :innocent:

Top tube looks short relative to the seat tube, which is my preference.

+1 on straightening the bars, sorry OCD kicking in, nice find OP

I've been pretty lucky with Shogun bikes too. Not much knowledge of these bikes out there in the Vintage world. So, you can usually pick these up for way less than equivalent Miyatas, Centurions, Univegas or Bridgestone brands. Shogun branded bikes are usually above average items with nice Tange labeled frames. Good stuff that's fun to ride.

That is awesome! Looks good. Id have a hard time not keeping that.

The saddle and handlebar position is in the "as found" setup. I take these photos when I bring the bike home so I can remember what they originally looked like...
