Thread shows 2 more pages, won't go there...
https://www.bikeforums.net/road-cycl...chase-690.html
690 is the last page available, all attempts to advance seem to land there instead. IE 11 tried so far. |
It’s a glitch in the system caused by people deleting their posts. Happens most often in long running threads.
I can see the last 2 pages. There's all kinds of cool stuff from the future there, flying rocket bikes, the 2020 election results, naked ladies, you really have to see for yourself to believe it. :D
All I wanna know is who won the Series...no wait, that was a Yuge problem.

Now this one: https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...y-ads-619.html
Odd, all my recent threads that have had this problem appear to have been fixed. Not all of them I guess.
Well, that WAS about two weeks ago, I haven't been back either.
Nevermind, I noticed another one of my recent threads still has the problem, with 2 "ghost" pages.
It's a database error with most vB platforms, it requires virtual housecleaning.

This is a known software bug. You're seeing all the available posts in the thread.
One of the issues is that the software allows a person to refer directly to an individual post by number.
https://www.bikeforums.net/20015918-post4.html Deleting previous posts can not force a renumber, otherwise all the potential hyperlinks would be broken. So, just looking at the post numbers won't give the precise page, so some other method for counting pages should be done (and apparently is being implemented in part), but isn't fully implemented. I.E. the system can jump to the proper page irrespective of deleted posts. |
Sometimes posts get deleted. This will cause the number to change, but the link should still go to the proper post.
FYI https://www.bikeforums.net/advocacy-...-fault-15.html
Still no page 16. I've used different computers and different browsers. Time to vacuum. |
I gather that somebody finally posted to push it into page 16.
I've had a few instances of no last page as listed lately, might you please take the site down for a night for maintenance? It's not browser specific.
Hang on, I'm sending a PM. If it's me I'm determined to fix this thing.

From what I understand it's because that many posts have been deleted and the page count won't back up to the previous page.
