Time Iclic peal question
 

Im sure I will sound stupid here, but i do not have clipless pedals right now nor have i ever used them so i do not know. If i buy the Time Iclic pedals will they work with shoes other than Time shoes or do you just need the Time Iclic cleat? Or would other cleats work with the time iclic pedal and different shoes? Yea, you'll just need the cleat. Any road shoe will work. I haven't read much about those pedals, I wonder what advantage they really have over the time tested SPD-SL stuff.


Edit:: Ok, I just googled it. I have to say, I don't exactly feel overworked clipping into my 105's, so the "most effortless clip in of all time blah blah" is kind of stupid. I suppose I wouldn't mind the adjustable Q-factor though.. not that this is new for Time, however.

As was mentioned before, you will need to use the iClic cleat with the iClic pedal. Any road shoe with a three bolt pattern on the sole should be compatible with the iClic cleat. This pattern has been referred to as the "Look" bolt pattern, but of course Time will never call it that, as they're competing companies.

The cleats will not work with the two bolt SPD cleat pattern from Shimano (usually on mountain bike shoes, as shown on the right below).

Nor will they work with the original 4 bolt pattern used on much older Time and some Vittoria shoes, but these are pretty rare now.

The three bolt Look pattern is pretty much standard for road shoes these days. Some shoes can accommodate both the Look 3 bolt and SPD 2 bolt patterns:
