First Generation Shimano Dura Ace

Has anyone seen or own some First Gen High Flange Dura Ace hubs in gold by chance? Someone is selling and I'm curious as to it's authenticity... They definitely are not painted and looks to be true butI can only find silver.. Thanks for any help.

The only other colour I've seen is black, which was catalogued for a few years.

Own a silver group, seen pics of the black group, also own a few pieces but never heard of a gold set. Maybe a trade show one off?

I know this groupset has a gold freewheel (at least, mine does) but never heard or seen golden hubs.

I know there were some gold components made for high end BMX builds but nothing else.

I'll join this chorus as first-gen Dura-Ace was just coming out when I go into this silly sport and I paid pretty close attention as it was an excellent lower priced option for a cash-challenged teenager.

Silver first-gen Dura Ace? Seen it, held it in my hand, rode it (crankset, DT shifters, FD, and RD called the "Crane"). Black? Seen it. Gold? Never heard of it.

No expert and never seen it but if its well done then its legit as a 1 off, possible BMX, trade show, show bike, whatever.

If the cost is doable and you like em, BUY, BUY, BUY!!! ;)

Here are the Hubs in question.... Owner says they are gold anodized. I think they are faded and dirty.. Thoughts??

Pretty cool, I don't have any reason to think they're not legit. I wonder if the dust caps have 'Dura-Ace' on them?

I think they're faded and dirty and maybe photographed badly as well. There is a small chance they were anodized aftermarket. Shimano never made them in gold.

I'm guessing they were anodized by the owner at some point. The color seems pale compared to the rims.

Here's an ebay listing for a first-gen Dura Ace crank anodized gold. Likely for BMX as others say. I've seen a few first-gen Dura Ace cranks in gold, but never paid much attention to the rest of the group.
