Shimano Nexus SG-8R31 squeal after maintenance
I took this hub apart a couple weeks ago to clean and lubricate. I think I did it right, only thing unusual was that one of the ball bearings was lost from the non-drive side retainer. 3/16 x 13 balls. I replaced that one ball and put it all back together. The problem now is that the hub squeaks a little while coasting. If I‘m pedaling I just hear a little normal chain noise, stop pedaling and I can hear something squeaking. Any ideas? While you’all are thinking, I’ll be trying to find a complete retainer and balls set. Thanks.
