The more I think About 8 speed Campagnolo, the more these parts seem to embody the spirit of CnV, Parts that are timeless, beautiful and still incredibly functional even in 2013.

I have one steel bike with a Record/Chorus mix and early Shamal tubulars, and it is an amazing bike to ride.

I have been piecing together a Athena 8 speed group over the last few months, I just need brakes then to choose a frame.

I thought it would be nice to celebrate Campy 8 by showing off your ride

'88 Guerciotti GLX - all Chorus, 2nd gen Record brifters/RD. Love this bike. It's gotten a couple changes since this pick and has become my "go-to" ride.

Now here's a good excuse to post a bike. My Campy '95 Ti Record 8 speed is a Colnago Master Piu with a later model Campy Ti seat post. It's one of my favourite group sets.

Man those are awesome bikes. Does anyone know if there a website that details the history of Campy parts? I have no idea when I read "Campy 8 speed" or "Ergo" or whatever where there parts fall in the lineup. I'd like to be able to read about them.

Pretty awesome bike, I hope I get to see it in person on one of the rides.

Aaron, once 7400 reared its head, very few people here were running anything but DA for many years.

Still true.

Go to the Tuesday State Fair crits here and there is very little Campy in sight.

Junior and cross racing is the same thing.

Ultegra and more Ultegra.

With a little 105 thrown in for good measure.

I know it well - I first started when people were making the shift. I think it took a long time for people to accept campy again after c-record and Shimano's deserved dominance in the mid-late 80s.

Still - I'd pick an ergo gruppo over STI every time.

Modern ultegra and 105 are quite noce, especially for the $$$.

I'd agree except for DA 7700.

Easily one of the nicest gruppos ever.

Top notch performance.

I loved those DA stis.

They are building a Colnago Prestige at the shop right now with an nos 7700 gruppo.

That chainset on 7700 is so very,very nice.

one of these days I will get an updated picture. If she rides as much as she plans this year, we may update her to veloce 10spd.

Both of these are built up with Record. I think I am going to take the group from the Chesini and put it on my Nuovo Clasicco De Rosa for the spring.

Is that an actual Telekom team bike?

It has a number hanger - I'm pretty sure that's real. Cool seeing two campy equipped team Merckx bikes in one thread. His looks MAX - just awesome.
