What did you just buy for your gravel bike?
The single speed and road forums have threads for those specific genres so why not gravel?
I'd love to see the new cool stuff people are buying so post your gravel or adventure bike specific purchases here. -Tim- |
Brooks C13 Carbon Cambium (145mm wide). Not nearly as comfy as leather, but I guess I'll keep it.
CGR and Thudbuster ST seat posts (one for road, one for gravel) 32mm Conti 4 seasons for the road/trail, 40mm Maxxis Rambler for rougher gravel and single track. New bar tape! ;-) |
Salsa Cowchipper bars.
Ordered em on Monday. Just cuz I wanna try em and see how they feel compared to my Origin8 Gary OS Sweep bars. I might like the slightly less canted levers and less flare on the drops. |
Just ordered new cranks for my vintage Stumpy drop-bar conversion. I'm keeping the gearing the same, but reducing the arm length to make the pedal stroke feel more like my road bikes, and hopefully eliminate some weird hip pain I've been having.

I just came back from a trip to Santiago and that's always good news for my bike. Lots of bike stores means a lot of variety on parts and great prices (compared to my city).
- Shimano 48-36-26 crankset (will replace the 26 with a 24t chainring for that ultra low gearing). - New front derailleur - A front rack so I can ditch my rear rack for commuting (N=1) |

(If your cassette has a straight block at the small gears, never mind.) (FD compatibility is also a potential issue; the inner plate on the FD needs to be able to clear the middle ring when shifting to the big ring, which can be an issue on some triple FDs if there's too small of a difference between middle and big ring.) |
Schwalbe G-One 38's. Should measure >40 mm when mounted.
$44 each at Merlin. Running 35's now. Will be interesting to see what the extra weight does for riding on pavement vs the extra width when riding on gnarly offroad. https://static.jensonusa.com/images/...9/G00029J2.jpg |
Shockstop stem
I bought a Shockstop stem for my Lemond Poprad. It has worked out well so far.
|
Had to get a new Panaracer GravelKing SK for my rear before Tour de Nebraska.
Currently looking at WTB Riddler 45s for next set of tires.... |
I just did a tubeless install of some Maxxis Rambler 40mm tires.
|
Presta -> Schrader valve converters.. I dislike Presta valves.
|
Last week, it was Brooks leather bar tape.
A set of ENVE 3.4 Disc wheels should arrive today. |
New brake pads. Looking at some tubeless road tires for my spare wheelset next.
|
Bearing service for one of my Phil BB's before it goes in my new frame.

And what do you think? I'm seriously considering these.
I'm happy with these tires. Installed on non tubeless rims. I used Gorilla tape, Stan's valves, Orange Seal. Moderately difficult to install on rim. I used a compressor and they inflated and seated immediately. Comfortable ride, good traction in gravel and hard pack. I doubt they would be very good in mud but no experience. After a couple hundred miles I expect minimal flat problems and medium tread life. I recommend them. |
Deore low-mount btm pull front derailleur.
To replace the Tiagra that the shop had spec'd for my build. The Tiagra was a terrible match for the 40-32-22 XT crankset, as there had to be a full inch btwn big ring teeth and btm of derailleur cage. |
A new (to me) gravel bike. Only 100 miles on my 2016 GT Grade carbon Ultegra. Get it tomorrow! Ordered tires today and received my 34t chain ring yesterday. Still need my 50t and I'll be ready to rip.
|
Hey, @BigPoser. I've been riding a GT Grade Carbon Force 22 for a year and a half. My only regret is that I didn't pony up for the Ultegra version. You should start a thread and post lots of pics, I'd love to see! Really hope you enjoy yours.

Rhinodillo Blue tire liners to fix a recurring flat issue.
