It is fun. Lots of good deals to be had.
Moderator, would you please move this to discussion thread. Didn't mean to put it in the sales group. |
Too far away for me, but thanks for the link to the website. It's been a while since I've seen that design outside the Wayback Machine. :)
|
I’ll be there with a couple spots set up. 5 or 6 bikes to sell and a table full of parts. Always fun!
|
I plan to be there. I always find some good stuff.

Thanks. Now I recall I went last year or the year before. Crowded. Maybe 50/50% I'll go.

I’ve got several. Colnago Crystal, Specialized Sequoia, Cannondale Black Lightning, Schwinn Tempo, Univega Speciallisima and a couple more. Look for me if you come. The Colnago is yellow, so I’ll be easy to spot. |
I will be there but not until around noon. Will check it out.
|
Someone please look for a pair of Cinelli LA84 bars. Can't seem to find a pair anywhere.

Brought the 1974 Raleigh Twenty, with original rack bag, for $170. Got it outside and rode it, realized the front bearing are shot. But still a good deal, everything else seems fine, I am happy with it. .
Almost brought the Vitus 979 (socketed, bonded aluminium frame) for $275, till I noticed it did not have the original quill seat post. I have 2 Kabiki Submariner stainless steel bikes with quill seat posts; after leaving I was wondering if they would fit the Vitus. |

Wish I was closer, but wow only 5 hours? It's going to be a mad house I imagine.

I had a great show. Bike geeks everywhere! Sold 4 out of the six bikes I took with me to sell and a bunch of small parts. I had more fun chatting with all the people that came by my set up and it was great to make a little money at the same time. I always make sure I have full disclosure about any issues with bikes that I sell. I sleep better at night because of that.
For instance I had a decent Benotto for sale, but the seat post was stuck. I sold it at a great discount and the buyer was perfectly fine with it. I was kind of sad selling a few of them, but made room for some new ones in the stable :). |
I went and enjoyed it. Although I didn't buy anything. I did spot a yellow Colnago for $600, was that your's brandenjs?

Yes it sure was. It did sell and that’s one I hope I don’t regret selling. I did a full rebuild on that one and it turned out pretty well. Hope the buyer enjoys it.

I had a good time, and got a modest haul of useful stuff for cheap. You can't beat $2-$5 Vittoria Corsa/Open tires that look like new take-offs.
But the guys I rode up with did even better. All were worked-in-bike-shops-in-the-70's types, and they spotted fab deals I would have missed. Like a Schwinn Voyageur in decent shape for $30 - with Campy con dente Pista pedals (what?!), and two U08s for $10@ with all sorts of Suntour/Stronglight upgrades. The piece-de-resistance was a ~1979 Gitane Tandem with TA cranks, Campy pedals/headset, Phil hubs, two nice Brooks seats, Cyclone RD in ready to ride condition for $250. It was quite the Tetris puzzle fitting all into the van. |
