Left Foot or Right Foot?
Which foot down at a stop sign or light?
Left.
Merry Christmas. |
99+% of the time it's my left. FWIW, I'm left handed and clearly stronger on that side.

Left, even though that ankle is so messed up my cleat is positioned so I can't twist out, and I have to twist in.
Right, because that is the correct foot for roads where cars drive on the right. ;)
Left--less chance of dragging ankle across chain or chain rings when getting back onto the pedal.
I'm left-footed, but I see that most of my riding mates are right-footed. Weird.
I tried right footed one time cuz I noticed that my neoprene covers were wearing unevenly more on the left than right. The result was that I fell flat on my left side. Never did that again. |

Well, left, of course.

Left or track stand.....although track stands tend to confuse drivers at all-way stop sign intersections.
Right - because if there's a curb to put my foot up on, it'll be on that side.
I'm a leftist.
Right because if I’m going to fall over at a stop, I’m going to fall away from traffic. I haven’t fallen over at a stopsign in 25 years, however.
I've always mounted the bike from the left so it has seemed natural to put my left foot down at a stop. However, I appreciate the idea of right foot down to stay further from traffic. Once on a tour a gout attack forced me to keep my left shoe cleated to the pedal so it was right foot down at stops and when I was fiddling to get my sore and swollen foot into my shoe. Awkward.:(
Mostly right, sometimes left, sometimes both and sometimes none and a slow roll.
Hop on the bike from the left side. Right foot unclipped and on the ground at stops.
I'm lefInhabited and footed, if there is any correlation. |
Left. Avoid the rookie mark on your right calf.
Both, if it's a long wait at a red light at a busy intersection. Otherwise, either, I guess. I've never really thought about this before. I've only ever used platform pedals; maybe that's why.
Left. If the road is crowned, and most are, your left foot is closer to the ground than your right. Also Cat 5 tattoo avoidance.

I track stand or I put my right foot down. I also don't use clipless pedals so falling over isn't an issue for me.
I voted track stand since it is very easy on my trike. :)
what's this safety thing some people are mentioning? Are people really putting the right foot down for safety?
