Ahooga, a Brompton-inspired folder from Belgium

Hello,

A search in the archives returned no thread to present this Brompton-inspired folder from Belgium, so here goes.

Ahooga came out less than two years ago in Brussels, Belgium.

It has 20" wheels and is available with or without pedal assist. Considering Brussels is pretty hilly, it's no wonder most locals choose the e-bike option.

The rear wheel folds like the Brompton/Birdy, but you have to remove the front wheel and stick it into a holder on the frame; Grabbing the wheel by the hub means you won't get your hand dirty… provided the wheel is clean.

With its bigger wheels, it obviously folds a bit less compact than the Brompton.

Unlike the Brompton, it has no lug welded on the head tube, so you're stuck either carrying a backpack, or using a Klickfix Caddy adapter and a Vario/Kanga rack on the stem.

The fenders/mudguards may be enough for a quick trip in a light rain, but you might want to install real fenders if you often ride in the rain.

The non-electric goes for €1,300* - €1,500€, while the electric costs €2,150 - €2,450.

Well, it looks amazing. To me, it looks like a folding-mini-velo.

Thanks for sharing Winfried!

It looks like the diamond frame Bike Friday and the Brommie had a baby!

PakiT needs to adopt that hook for the front wheel - would be a much smaller easier carry.

I'm not very impressed by it but its nice enough I suppose.

I like it a lot. The roll up fenders seem pretty cool and light weight. Thanks for posting.

Hmm. No main frame fold, Dahon angle folding handle post. DiBlasi heritage rear tuck-under.

Folding fenders!
