Group Rides With A Theme

My hobby is to video and photo document local group bike rides. Some are charity rides and some, like this one, are just for fun. Providence Bike Jam was Critical Mass in the past. CM is no longer necessary and CM is now PBJ, that organizes a ride on the last Friday of the month. This ride was Zombie themed with around 60 biker ranging from 8 to 70 years old.

My favorite theme: "Ride Your Bike!"

If dressing up like zombies gets people to ride their bikes, then it's not wrong. Not my idea of fun, though.

Yup, we have a lot of weekly, monthly and annual group, event and theme rides here. They're fun. I tend to turn every road bike ride into a hard workout. Even our weekly "recovery rides" tend to be workouts. So the casual group rides encourage me to relax on my hybrid and get in a real recovery ride.

Not only dressing like zombies. Stopping a couple of times for a dance party. Breaking out the beer and bourbon, and riding the streets of Providence with three synchronized boom boxes blaring.

You sure this isn't a gang of punks on stolen JUMP bikes?

Ha! Lyft removed all the Jump bikes a couple of months ago. They said Providence wasn't mature enough for them. Jump didn't mention how easy they were for high school kids to jailbreak them.
