Best Full Alloy Frame and Fork Performance Hybrid Bike for up to $1500
What’s the best Alloy (Frame and Fork) High Performance Hybrid bike for up to $1500. I don’t like Carbon, but all the better hybrids are Carbon frames and forks. I’m not looking for a cheap “under $500” hybrid. I’d like one with solid performance and wheelset, just with Alloy frame and fork. I’m in Northern California. What’s your recommendations and why? Thanks!

Doing your own build might be challenging but I built a flat-bar road bike with a Marin frame I bought from Randombikeparts (and Kinesis Crosslight 3 forks)https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...4ad7ba1456.jpg
. I don't know if they're on vacation because I don't see them on eBay but their web site is still up. This was partly because I wanted V-brakes. Sora brakes and Sora cranks but brake levers, shifters, derailleurs and hubs are all Tiagra equivalent. |
How about a Trek FX4. It's right around your price point and is well configured. It has a carbon fork but the frame is aluminum.
I have the FX2 and it's a great bike (lower group set though). |

Most alloy forks tend to pick up a lot of vibrations. From my understanding, this is why most forks are steel or carbon fiber.
