Very early Schwinn track, Paramount?

The nice thing is it's all there. I would have thought earlier with the wooden wheels but I'm no Schwinn guy.

That's an order of magnitude more than i overpaid for mine (almost ten years ago?). Lucky for me i was able to unload it on a guy who was willing to overpay a bit more. It was from 1940 as well.
It may be set up like a track bike, but that doesn't make it a track bike. It's basically a TBSO. Heavy steel tubing, welded together with (lead?) solder added for that "fillet brazed" look, and the softest fork i have ever encountered. I have never seen one that didn't have a bent fork (except in photos). |
