Best face covering?
 

Hello all,

For those of you in areas where face coverings are now required for outdoor riders/runners/walkers, who is finding an effective solution? I’ve been using a gaiter pulled up over my face in the colder weather, but now that it’s warm I’m finding it fairly suffocating. Would love your advice...

I used this this past weekend

they are too long to use as-is. the have a top and a bottom. I cut off the top 5"? & used that. for me, 70 degrees is the upper limit. plenty of airflow. they are stretchy so it can expans to cover nose, mouth & chin

Wifey found that riding w/ a cheap surgical style, was just fine. $2 at CVS

I also use a neck gaiter - it also keeps the sun off the back of my neck.
Used it this week in the high 70s.

It's worth contemplating that anything that is freer flowing will afford both yourself and others less protection

yup & too little can’t be used at all. it’s a tuff balance

I've also been using a gaiter. Technical fabrics aren't great for facemasks - as they are designed to be breathable - but I figure something is better than nothing.

right, they don’t protect us so much as they keep our own droplets close to our own body. that's why everyone is supposed to wear one

I am still stuck on the neck gaiter

You might as well just hold your breath for the length you ride. jk
