UK cyclists?
 

Hi,
Just wondering how many are here that live in the UK. It seems predominantly USA based cyclists(correct me if wrong) so just curious if many or any others from UK or other parts of Europe.

I worked out of Portsmouth for about 5 years. Mostly, waaaay out of Portsmouth.
1st wife was from Kent, lots of time there, back in the day.

I think the Classic and Vintage Forum sees the most non-USA members. Lugged steel and UK/EU seem so nicely joined.

I see a fair amount of members that show UK or United Kingdom as their location. Can't think of who here in this sub-forum though. If it doesn't make you feel too nosy, then you can do an advance search on the member list and look at the last activity date to see who's still around.

i have a UK strava buddy a "brummie" as they say. i love to see the photos of his ride.

He's from Birmingham then if he's a Brummie.

watched a great u tube video on the accents of the UK and they said the birmingham accebt is the least liked.
funny.

UK-er here. The Brummie accent is lilting compared to that from those good folk in Barrow in Furness . . . .
Big advantage of the UK is the Coast to Coast.
You can do it in less than a lifetime . . . . .

Given wind at present could go coast to coast in an afternoon...

My Mom lives in Upton upon Severn near Malvern. I did a month long trip early last summer, so picked up a used road bike the first week there. Did a number of rides out into the country and back. Living in Dallas Texas the hills over there were a challenge but the ability to stop at a pub on the ride made up for it.

Hope to do some riding in Wales when travel returns to some type of normalcy. My wife likes prefers historic sites over cycling so I can tie that in to some riding

I normally spend UK summer in Wednesbury (The Black Country) West Midlands. However the Coronavirus Pandemic put a stop to that this year. This is the first winter I have had in 4 years. But to be honest here in North Island, New Zealand the winter isn't that bad around 8-10 degrees C is the average so not too bad a winter so far.

Another UK member here, down in hilly North Devon. Returning to cycling after a long lay off, dusting off the bikes and tuning them up. Need to regain some fitness and lose a few lockdown pounds.

I live in Pembrokeshire which is hilly (most rides every 10 miles = 1000ft) although couple years back had a trip to Somerset and did a few rides around there and man there's some hills there!
To be honest though, hills I don't mind it's the wind which I hate most. Unless it's a tailwind...
