Didn't the OS frame have distinctive custom lugs? The one reviewed in a 1989 Bicycle Guide featured the new lugs (which were said to be very pricy), but tubing manufacturer wasn't listed.

I’d get some aluminum black from Birchwood Casey. Like paint, it’ll wear off the teeth quickly, but for the rest of the ring it’ll be tougher than paint.
