I do know I'm about 20 seconds faster per 100 then I was 9 months ago.

One year ago I could not swim a lap. Now I could do pretty much any distance.

Yup, the Cervelo for 2500 is the best bang for the buck, period. However you can get a Jamis Comet for 1200, which is great for an entry level tri bike if you want to keep the price down as well....

I like the Rudy Project Syton. You can get it without ear flaps or spend a little extra money and get removable ear flaps. That's a huge advantage over the other helmets.

I would still go with the Cervelo over the K-Factor, even considering the Kuota is carbon. Even Cervelo's aluminum bikes easily rival lower end carbon frames.

Tri wet suits range in thickness from 2 around the arms and high motion points to 5 around the legs and other areas. I never thought of being too buoyant as a problem but...

The seat angle difference is only for a more aggressive position on the bike. Tri shorts have less or no padding compared to regular cycling shorts so you may need a new saddle for that reason.

Simply put, it's more aerodynamic. Also notice the front wheel has fewer spokes then normal and has a deeper rim. That also makes it more aero then the average wheel.
