Have you seen the way people look after cyclocross races? Anything worth doing is more fun in mud. Ride your bike and enjoy the mud. Just hose it off after.

@BenTheDesigner - It's not what you ride it's how you ride it. I would recommend you try the "Ride it like you stole it!" approach at least until you get to the cobble stone portion.
