An antibiotic before dental procedures seems to be a standard practice. My Primary Care Physician said 24 months after the surgery. But I agree there are other things that pose the same risk.

a] if something goes wrong, you're toast.
b] with one working knee, you can get out of a chair and walk with crutches.

So my intensity level is higher in a running race than in a ride.

If you have one good leg & two good arms, getting out of a recliner shouldn't be a problem....
