I don't know what that means but I do prefer verticals. I always have the wheel all the way back in the horizontals so short or long is immaterial to me.

I'd like to find a 9spd cassette with the titanium cogs in a 28 but I don't know what to look for. Searching comes up with 32 but the DA 7700 won't do a 32.

Yeah the dropouts are strange. The socketed things are usually verticals without adjusting screws. And it has a 126mm rear just to help out. The butterfly cable guides...
