Now if it's 55, cloudy and the ride starts at the top of a 10 mile 7% descent, maybe I'd think about arm warmers :)

Could be because you put a lot more in there also. I've seen MTB tires come into the shop with 10oz Slime easy. I'll usually initially go with 4 oz sealant in a 2" tire and reups are 2 oz.
