Taking a guess, I'll assume higher durability.
The derailleur could be stuck due to derailleur damage, stuck cable, stuck shifter.
Best to figure out why there's a problem...

It only has the links for part of the length.

Put it in a vice and bent it back.

2 were ultra low quality 11-50T no name brand and one was 11-42T Microshift
The damage was usually one or two of the lowest 3 gears
