yeah, I would always take it off if there wasn't something holding it down, big fan of that option. Some bending/love helps a little.

The Met is donation basis. I go whenever I want to burn an hour or two and just donate a $1 (once 20 cents). Cross your fingers the teller doesn't give a disapproving look when you tell him/her.

for the record, i briefly had a 700x32 panaracer tserv on my 57 with no problems. that's a pretty beefy tire. i think the first place they rub is on the bridge behind the bottom bracket.
