Medium cage? Did you attempt without the roadlink first? I've found and others that shimano is very conservative of max cog size, usually at least 4T

How is a chain guide not a correct solution? Plenty of pros use them. Shimano still doesn;t have a proper clutch RD yet plenty run them without chain drops. There are alot of solutions that don't...
