yea it is awesome out there. my team, tyson racing, has a training camp every year there in february. beautiful area with lots of great climbs and not much traffic. glad you enjoyed it.

unless you yourself have CP it shouldn't take anywhere near 2 hours to do 24 miles. more like 1 hour. in which case i would suggest eating a gu 20 minutes before the ride and taking a bottle of water.
