I myself, ride before the sun comes up. It's still in the upper 90's but there's no sun pounding down on you. You'd be surprised how many hard core riders still ride in the daytime.

I've never known an inconsiderate driver to care what color someone is wearing. I am not real worried about getting hit by safe drivers, although it could happen. It's the A-holes that worry me!
