Geometry depends on the trail and riding style. Some of the new bikes handle slow and clumsy to me. Better tires? LOL. I'm not riding on 25 year old tires. You know they still make 26" tires, right?...

Jeez, how much do you have to spend these days not to get a boat anchor? I've ridden some of these modern ~30lb bikes and they feel like total slugs compared to my ancient 26" rim-brake hardtail....
